The 3 main tools used for house painting. include spray, brush and roll. Each tool has its advantages & disadvantages, and while speed is important quality is #1
Spraying with an airless is the fastest. Rolling is next and brushing is the slowest. However, the time it takes to set up your spray machine and mask can take hours, even days, which can make rolling faster overall.
Rolling delivers better quality than spraying alone, which is why professionals try to back roll when they can, as the roller evens out the paint for a better coating.
A variety of thick and medium nap rollers can be used for walls and special mohair rollers for fine enamel finishes, however there are times when spraying alone can be better, such as fine, lacquer finishes, popcorn ceilings, etc. But for painting walls rolling is generally the best way to go.
Another drawback to spraying is the wasted paint overspray. An average of 20-30% of paint is wasted in overspray. and this overspray can land on windows, concrete, neighbors cars, pets and in your lungs. This is why extensive masking must be done before spraying.
Tens of millions of gallons of toxic paint overspray get into the environment every year from airless spraying. PaintBlazer may reduce that by a large percentage because the paint is not atomized and there's no overspray.
When you spray an average exterior that costs $1,000 in paint you can easily waste $200-$300 in material from overspray.
PaintBlazer combines the speed of spraying with the quality of rolling, with no overspray and no wasted paint! Professional painters can save thousands of dollars a year from paint savings, not to mention all the labor they'll save.
My PaintBlazer unit delivers a low pressure spray fan directly on the wall, about an inch underneath the roller at low pressure-high volume, simply by squeezing the Wi-Fi trigger. Because it doesn't atomize the paint there's no overspray but it can deliver up to a gallon of paint per minute for super blazing fast speeds. Adjust the pressure and use the smaller roller for smaller areas.
It took me several years of trial and error and several prototypes to get the spray fan perfectly positioned right underneath the roller, so you can spray paint on the wall, while rolling it out simultaneously. It's awesome!
No more dipping into a pan or bucket, just squeeze the trigger and paint non stop until you're done. It's about 3-5 times faster than standard rolling and much easier to deliver higher quality as your focusing on rolling, not dipping. Use it on the standard 9" roller all the way up to the 36" roller making it about 10 times faster than standard rolling.
