Since I started my business in 1979 I’ve painted thousands of walls interior/exterior. About 90% were rolled and 10% sprayed.
I enjoy my painting business, meeting new people and making houses look new again, but I couldn’t help noticing many of the tools I still use could be improved.
In 2016 I designed a simple attachment for a spray gun to contain the overspray, while simultaneously back rolling. I acquired a full utility patent on the tool in 2019. “PaintBlazer”
A buyer at Walmart was impressed with my unit, but said it was mostly a contractor tool and wouldn’t do well at Walmart.
“PaintBlazer” attaches to an airless spray gun or swivel pole to contain the overspray, while simultaneously back-rolling.
I began designing another tool under the PaintBlazer umbrella that would be a complete self-contained, lightweight unit that could be used by amateurs and professionals alike.
It could be sold at Walmart, Home Depot and many other national retail outlets.
My PaintBlazer tool is a side project, as I must focus on my painting business.
I’m able to work on the new tool in my spare time. It's close to completion, but the last few details take time, and I believe the phrase, "Patience makes perfect"
I’ve made several prototypes, using different pumps, etc. It's designed to attach to any size roller from the 6", 9", 18" and even the super size 36" roller.
Only God knows what the future will bring, but I plan to give it my best in my painting business and the development of any new tools I create.
