When power rollers first hit the market in the 70's & 80’s they didn’t have the same technology as we do today.
They didn't have on-board computers, 3D printers & wireless triggers. The power rollers of today are from ancient technology, heavy & slow. My Blazer-Roller is a sophisticated tool designed for 2024 & beyond.
(1) The Pressure Roller and (2) The Spray Roller
The Pressure Roller, such as the Wagner Sidekick, pumps the paint through the tube into a center rod inside the roller, which has tiny little holes.
The paint then seeps through those little holes and soaks the outside of the roller, enabling the user to roll without dipping.
The concept is partially good, but the process is far too slow. It takes a long time and a lot of pressure to push the paint through those little holes. And all too often those holes get plugged up with paint causing the unit to stop working.
You must then take the unit apart and clean those little holes to get it to work right, and this takes time.
Airless Spray Rollers, such as the Graco Jet Roller, attaches to an airless sprayer, which costs between $1,000 to $2,000 extra. The 18” Graco Jet Roller attachment is about $700 - $800 not including the airless sprayer.
Their attachment includes the pole gun, the spray nozzle and roller. You can then spray the paint directly on the wall outside the roller and lay it off, (spraying and rolling simultaneously).
This method is much faster than a pressure roller, as you can spray & roll instantaneously. However, the paint must be atomized with tremendous force (2,000 - 3,000 PSI), and this causes a considerable amount of OVERSPRAY!
My Blazer Roller is similar to the Graco Jet Roller in that they both spray the paint on the wall instantaneously, outside the roller enabling you to spray and roll simultaneously, but the key difference is my tool sprays at Low Pressure-High Volume. It's less than a tenth the PSI of an airless sprayer.
My unit can put out a gallon a minute, but with no overspray, because of my proprietary nozzle design.
Regular spraying requires atomization at high pressure, but my tool is made strictly for rolling, so the pressure can be less than one tenth the PSI of an airless sprayer.
Low Pressure-High Volume makes it lighter, easier to use, safer, better quality and far more cost effective.
There are other features that make my tool more advanced and far superior to the competition, this will be explained in more detail on the Tool page.
